Instead of looking like a nice soft gold, it was VERY brassy in tone. I ended up spray painting it in 'oil-rubbed bronze' using a universal paint appropriate for any surface. It looks much better now. The frame itself is okay, just didn't like the finish. Won't purchase a gold frame again. I've switched my framing choices to the Masterpiece series. The first one is coming today, I'm hoping it is better than this frame because I don't appreciate having to pay for a frame that I then have to refinish to make it worth using.
