Antique 1930s British Military Naval Officers Hat Tin Gieves London Orgl Labels
DESCRIPTION
1930s British naval military travel box. Manufactured by Gieves to house their hats and accessories for naval officers in the 19th and early 20th century. Superbly lined in its original copper this tin was the property of a vice admiral Hugh Richard Janvrin who was also a KCB (Knight Commander of the Order of Bath). This box dates to the 1930s, perhaps even WW2. This still retains its original travel labels from various trips during the 1940's/50s. The Japanning is also still present throughout.

MEASUREMENTS
Naval tin box measures 16" long by 12" wide by 10" tall and weighs 4lb 7oz.
CONDITION
Hat box is in good condition with the usual scuffs associated with age and its locking ring is missing- please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description.
